Local personal trainer Sharnae Rowland enlisted the help of Brent Kelly Law when purchasing her first home in Otorohanga. Here, we catch up on the experience of being first home buyers.
A Te Awamutu local, Sharnae Rowland has spent most of her life living in the area.
Along with her partner Jayden Scott, the couple was ready to start looking for their first home after saving a deposit for the past two years.
“Trying to buy our first home in this market was tough,” says Sharnae, who has worked as a personal trainer for the past five years.
“We found it challenging to meet the banking criteria…Te Awamutu quickly became out of our budget due to escalating house prices.”
“Getting our 20% deposit is what finally got us over the line with getting our pre-approval, and we ended up finding a lovely house in Otorohanga.”
Needing some legal expertise to complete the transaction, the couple were referred to Brent Kelly Law.
“Some close friends had a great experience with the firm, so we got in touch and worked with (Senior Legal Executive) Pam Fitzgibbon,” says Sharnae.
“Pam was really great to work with. She communicated well with us and supported us the whole way through. I would definitely recommend Brent Kelly to friends and family in the future.”
The couple is so proud and relieved to be in their home.
“We couldn't have wished for anything better for us,” says Sharnae.
“Finally having a place to call our own is such a relief. I'm really proud of what we have achieved – it was a long time coming and we are still pinching ourselves! “
